ABOUT
Jenny Schwartz’s God’s Ear begins with the death of a child and then refuses almost every conventional language through which grief might be represented: Mel and Ted lose their son, their marriage begins to fracture, and figures including the Tooth Fairy and GI Joe intrude as clichés, idioms, repetitions and songs accumulate until language itself begins to break down.
